Die Steel Lesson
NO.1507
An old customer came to purchase P20 mold steel again and told me that the bottom mold made of P20 last time was used to make more than 20,000 products, and there was no mold cracking. The use effect was good, and plan to make 20 more pieces this time.
This customer makes screw hot forging molds. The previous molds they used were made by H13, 3Cr2W8V, and carbide tungsten steel.
The structure of the molds were all round bars, but the bottom mold of the mold was prone to cracking.
The service life of the mold was short and serious. It affects production efficiency. Besides, the cost of repairing molds is too high.
I have checked the molds and products from old customers. His molds are all clamped with jackets and are always flushed with water during the production process. There is no problem with the process. However, the H13, 3Cr2W8V, and carbide tungsten steel currently used mainly cause the failure of the mold is the phenomenon of mold cracking. This kind of mold failure is caused by the incorrect choice of mold steel.
Based on the mold working conditions for this customer, we recommended P20 mold steel to him, which has four comprehensive properties and is relatively good.
The thermal stability of P20 mold steel is 2-3 times that of H13, and its hardness can reach HRC50-54. In this way, when working at high temperatures, its hardness will not decrease easily and its red hardness will not decrease. If it is guaranteed, there will be no mold collapse. Besides, its thermal fatigue resistance is good, the mold is not prone to thermal fatigue cracks, and it is made of special alloy, so its impact toughness is better than H13, 3Cr2W8V, and cemented carbide. Its thermal conductivity, It is also better than these three materials.
After using P20 mold steel for the bottom mold of the screw hot forging mold of this customer, more than 20,000 pieces of products can be produced at one time. The effect of this use is indeed good.
P20 mold steel can solve the cracking problem of the mold at one time, and the service life of the mold is very long. This effect is quite good, and compared with carbide tungsten steel, its cost has also dropped a lot, and customers are very satisfied, I am also very satisfied.
Therefore, when your hot forging mold also encounters the problem of mold collapse or rapid cracking, spend a little money to try P20 mold steel. P20 mold steel is used for hot forging molds. Compared with H13, the service life is doubled and the price is Without doubling it, it’s even more delicious than braised pork!
