The main failure modes of powder metallurgy pressing molds are wear, stretch marks, and cracking.
The wear resistance and material sticking prevention performance of the mold steel are very demanding.
At the same time, toughness must be taken into account to prevent the mold from cracking or chipping.
The mold steel must be selected without carbide segregation defects, no adhesive wear of the adhesive material, a high total alloy content, and a hardness of HRC54-60 to ensure sufficient wear resistance while taking into account toughness.
I have seen the composition and total alloy content of the 2360 alloy she sent, which is not as high as that of LG.
Based on these performance requirements and past experience, I recommend LG mold steel.
1) LG mold steel is electroslag steel, which has no carbide segregation and no adhesive wear of adhesive materials.
The mold can be mirror polished and the mold finish is good;
2) Their hardness can reach HRC54-60, the total alloy content is relatively high, and they have good wear resistance.
They can resist the erosion and wear of the mold during the powder pressing process.
The mold will not cause pull marks or run-off, and it can Guaranteed mold life span.
3) Their toughness is very good. The crack resistance of LG mold steel is 1 times higher than that of DC53.
The toughness of LG mold steel is 8~9 times that of DC53.
The toughness is so good that it does not break even when it is bent, and the mold will not crack or collapse. lack.
Mr. Zhou has verified that LG mold steel for powder metallurgy pressing molds can be produced for two to three months, and has obvious price-performance advantages over world-renowned steel types.
Mr. Hu’s bevel gear powder metallurgy pressing mold uses DC53, which is prone to tooth chipping and cannot be solved.
After using LG mold steel, the tooth chipping phenomenon disappears and the mold life is greatly extended.
